Meetings

The Altar Guild meets the first Saturday of each month for a business meeting and preparation of communion for the Sunday service.  The Guild keeps the communion trays and articles polished and the linens in good order. 

Altar Flowers

The Altar Guild also orders the altar flowers for the sanctuary.  There is a sign up sheet outside of the church office so that you can sign up to purchase flowers for the altar.  If you are not able to sign up in person, feel free to call Michelle in the church office or Janet Barnes (#242-1728).  The cost is $25.00 and checks are made payable to the Altar Guild.  If you do not want to keep your flowers after the service, let someone on the Guild know, so that they know that they can deliver them to shut-ins or ill members of the church.  The Guild also places a rose bud on the altar to honor each newborn of the church family.

          The Altar Guild meets the Saturday before the first Sunday of each month to prepare the bread and cup for communion and have a business meeting. In addition, we:
--Clean up after Communion
--Polish brass that is used for Communion
--Keep altar cover and napkins clean and pressed
--Fix candles for Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
--Order flowers that families with to provide for the altar.
--Deliver flowers, after the service, as requested by the donor to ill members of the congregation
--Arrange roses for Rose Sunday
--Prepare for special services, i.e., Maundy Thursday, etc.
