November
Worship!
This month, we will have some very special worship opportunities. Join us
for:
Nov. 4 – Stewardship & Shalom – learn more about why and how
the celebration of harvest has always been important among God’s people, and
how stewardship is about “giving back to God”
Nov. 11 – Our Annual Veterans’ Appreciation Service – invite a
veteran you know to join us for this service, in which we honor and
appreciate the service of our veterans
Nov. 18 – Thanksgiving Service! Today we celebrate, with all
the trimmings, what this holiday means to us as people of faith
Nov. 25 – Dedication Sunday – today, we dedicate our financial
pledges for the coming year; we are all encouraged to remember how generous
our God has been to us, and how we in turn are invited to grow spiritually
by sharing a generous portion of what we have received with others

CORNERSTONE FUND...An opportunity for you to
something good for the church and earn reward for yourself.
Now that our Building
loan has been retired, we rarely hear the term Cornerstone. It was through
this fund our church was able to invest pledge money and then borrow
construction money. Established in 1995, the Fund offers loans to local
churches and other organizations related to the UCC for any property-related
project.
A number of us
participate in the Cornerstone Fund by investing money in Certificates of
Deposits (CDs), knowing this is helping other churches like it help us.
Current interest rates are:
6 month 4.875% 18 month 5.000%
12 month 5.000% 30 month 5.062%
You can see that a 12
month CD provides a good rate of return and gives you the joy and
satisfaction of helping other UCC members. For more information call
Cornerstone at 888-822-3863, go online to Conerstonefund.org., or contact
Treasurer David Hoefer. |

Global Partners 2008 Venezuela and the United States
Evangelical Pentecostal Union of Venezuela (UEPV)
United Church of Christ (UCC) and
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
Do you hear God calling you? Come express your faith through acts of witness
and solidarity. Join a mission trip to Venezuela with the Global Partners
program. The purpose of these trips is to provide cultural exchanges between
sisters & brothers in Christ and to support one another in our spiritual
journeys as we seek peace & justice in our world.
There are three trips a
year with each trip centered on a project. The process of relationship
building, however, is more important than what we do. Therefore, you do not
need specific skills for any of these trips. Please fill out an application
for one of the following trips — YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!
Intergenerational Construction Trip -April 2008
Past projects have included remodeling church offices, constructing
community centers,
and building a women’s shelter.
Youth trip (For ages 15-18) —July 2008
Previous groups have attended camp and classes with Venezuelan youth and
helped with their projects.
Medical Mission Trip —October 2009
Work with local medical personnel to provide health education and care to
the indigenous people of Western Venezuela, the Wayuu Indians.
Now taking applications. For an application go to rmcucc.org/outreach/globalpartners/gpapply.htm
or call the Rocky Mountain Conference office at 1-800-284-0287.
This global partnership between the UCC, DOC & UEPV started in 1998. Our
Church’s Wider Mission donations supported the creation of this relationship
and continue to fund technical and coordinating assistance. |
