  TRUSTEES’ Report

Again in February the Trustees did not have a quorum, so we took no official action.
Linda has been painting walls for the Finishing Touches folks, with results that are spectacular.
Our old friend the boiler demanded a bit more attention recently. It threw a set screw in the circulator pump assembly. No pump - no circulating hot water - no heat. It was an easy fix though. A new set screw cost 35 cents.
We look forward to the time when we can service our swamp coolers and forget about the boiler.

Women’s Fellowship
We will meet at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 30th in Pilgrim Hall. Kong Vong, our speaker, arrived in Grand Junction with her parents, brother, two nephews and her three children on Oct.18, 1980. Dorothy Green was instrumental in arranging for our church to sponsor Kong’s family. Kong will share her experiences of moving to the United States and beginning a new life.

Bargain Books
All books will be sold for half price on Sunday, March 30th and on every 5th Sunday to make room for new donations. The proceeds from the book sales has made it possible for Women’s Fellowship to donate to worthy organizations in our area such as Lattimer House, the Counseling and Education Center, Tree House Center for Youth, the Senior Companion program and Grand Valley Senior Daybreak. Donations of books are always accepted and needed to keep this project going.

Equal Exchange Fairly Traded ground coffee, coffee beans, tea and chocolate bars (and they all are delicious!) will be on sale following worship March 9th...on the second Sunday of every month in Pilgrim Hall. Enjoy great tastes, and support great mission at the same time!

                                          VOLUNTEER AT LATIMER HOUSE
Latimer House – one of the community organizations which our church supports – provides a safehouse and shelter, along with counseling services, for families dealing with domestic violence problems. They presently need volunteers to:
• perform office chores, like folding flyers and preparing mailings
• assist families at the shelter
• assist with child-care at the shelter
• answer the Latimer House Hotline
They provide training for these tasks, and are very much in need of your compassion, time, and energy. Call 241-0324 to volunteer, or for more information.

Easter Lilies
We will decorate our church with lilies on Easter Sunday. If you would like to place a plant in memory of or in honor of a loved one, please bring $9 to the church office by Palm Sunday (March 16). Michelle will take the information about the person you want to honor. We are not sure what the lilies will cost exactly but will shop carefully and try to get the best price. Call Nancy Hoefer or Carolyn Ramsey with questions.
