Pastoral Care Guide Class
Beginning Wednesday May 14th at 10:00 AM a
class will be held in the chapel at FCUCC. The book The
Indispensable Guide to Pastoral Care by Sharyl B. Peterson will be
discussed. Books are available to purchase in the church office at a
cost of $15, or a copy may be checked out of the church library.
Why would you want to participate in a discussion about pastoral
care? You are not a pastor. The book leads you to explore several
issues that are pertinant to the living of our everyday Christian
lives.
The group will meet each Wednesday morning for 10 weeks. Each
session will be approximately 1 1/2 hours long. If you want more

 FIRST
SUNDAY NIGHT SPIRITUAL MOVIESSUNDAY
May 4th at 6:30 PM in
Comfortable Mayflower
We’ll be showing “Little Buddha”...the story of a boy and his family who
learn about a prince in a land of miracles. But the miracle becomes real
when Tibetan monks appear, searching for their leader’s reincarnation --
who they believe has been reborn in the boy and as their worlds meet, the
Americans go on an extraordinary adventure!
This will be the last FIRST SUNDAY NIGHT SPIRITUAL MOVIE until next
October. If you have ideas for films to be shown, let Judy Lauer know
(#242-5253).
AND...if you’d like to see one of the last six months’ specials, including
“Ladies in Lavender,” “Ground Hog Day,” “Peaceful Warrior,” “Pay It
Forward,” “Noél,” or “One Night With the King,” those DVDs are now in the
Library to check out. |

Vacation
Bible School
VBS is happening again this year with RAINBOW TRAIL
LUTHERAN CAMP. It will be held at American Lutheran Church JUNE 9th-13th
from 9 AM until 2 PM, except for preschoolers who need to be picked up at
12 Noon. Day Camp is open to children from preschool-5th grade.
Preschoolers must be 3 and potty trained. Registration forms will be
available soon—keep your eyes open for them. The cost is $20.00 for the
first child and $15.00 for the second child, and scholarships are
available if needed. We will be having lots of fun with the kids this
week, doing activities such as making relay-for-life bags, a puppet show,
water games, and tie-dying. (Make sure to bring a white shirt to tie-dye
on Monday June 9th!) Children need to be registered for camp by MAY 31st.
Along with children, we need VOLUNTEERS for the week—we need YOU. We
appreciate anything you can do, from providing snacks, lunches, hosting a
dinner for the counselors, helping for a day or helping out all week.
Whatever you can do we have an opportunity for you to come and help out
with Vacation Bible School. All volunteers need to sign up by MAY 15th.
There will be a sign-up sheet soon at the church.
We look forward to a wonderful week filled with fun and Jesus!! We need
