The Indispensable Guide to Pastoral Care
by Sharyl B. Peterson
Sharyl’s Acknowledgment in her new book pays tribute to all of us at First
Congregational U.C.C., i.e.,
“I have written much of this book wrapped in one of three ‘garments.’ One is
a shawl knitted of soft blue-green yarn that looks like water, made by women
in the Prayer Shawl ministry of our church. As they and the rest of my
congregation blessed me on my way to the sabbatical during which I would
write this book, they wrapped me in their love, trust, care, and
encouragement. I pray, in my work with them, that I return these gifts just
as generously.” [Her second tribute was to a small quilt prepared and
blessed by a group of women clergy friends, and her third was to one we all
hold dear in our church, Bob!]
We will be obtaining a number of copies of her book to be available to our
membrs at cost. Watch for a bulletin announcement that will be forthcoming. |
